I have an issue twice so far with the Q2 alarm and wanted to know if anyone else has noticed the same behaviour.

During a long journey when I stop for a break, during a long motorway run, I noticed the car alarm activated when the car was locked and unattended. Both days were rather hot sunny days

@andrewk59 I did 4 long (well circa 300 mile each totalling 1,150 miles) motorway runs (with a break in the middle) over 5 days a few weeks back with no issues like yours.

It could be something as simple as a badly adjusted bonnet/door sensor but a read of the onboard error log should show where a fault lays and you may need to ask your dealer to take a look under warranty.

The usual suspects for this are a slightly open window allowing air movement, or an insect in the car, either way I suggest the sensitivity of the movement sensors be increased. You can test this by switching them and the tilt sensor off with the door switch leaving only the voltage drop system working and see if it alarms in similar circumstances.

Hi, quick update.

Took the car into the dealership, after connecting the diagnostic reader onto the car they advised it was the movement sensors triggering the alarm. They adjusted the sensitivity so hopefully no more false alarms.
