Hi, I was just wondering what MPG people were getting with the various types of engines and gearboxes.
I have a Q2 S-Line 1.4 TFSI with DSG and my average is 41.4mpg over 500 miles driven so far.
Let us know what you are getting.
I'm now approaching 9,000 miles. Long term memory shows 45.9mpg whilst it is not unusual for me to have short term in excess of 55mpg. This is on a 1.4 TFSI. In a typical week I will drive around 150 miles on a motorway at 60-70mph and 200 miles on A & B roads. My driving style varies but typically do not drive aggressively. I'm pleased with this although no where near what I used to get out of my previous car which was a diesel where I could get in excess of 70mpg... the long term average on that was 55mpg. Very strange seeing the 1.0 TFSI at such low mpg...
Now done 3500 miles, mainly motorway driving 60-70mph.
Long term memory shows 58.9mpg.
Actual is abt 57mpg ( fuel taken divided by miles travelled ).
1.6 tdi s tronic.
Very happy now as things have settled but first few tanks of fuel was barely 50mpg.
I've only had mine a few days but today I drove 20 miles to work on A roads, back roads and the average showed 45mpg, I came back mostly on dual carriageway on got 48mpg. Im happy with that I expect I'll get much better on a long motoway journey.
I was on efficiency mode and the display regularly showed 2 cylinder mode.
I do mostly motorway journeys to and from work and have noticed a fair difference depending on the type of fuel i'm using.
BP 95ron I was getting about 50 MPG and having recently switched over to Shell V Power I am getting 56-57 MPG for the same journeys. I am currently doing journeys where I can invoke 2 cylinder mode for large chunks of it though.
Where you buy your fuel is also a factor in running costs.
Not strictly Q2 relevant but went down to Wetherby at the Citroen Car Club North Rally yesterday, 209 mile round trip at 23 mpg in our 52 Citroen Traction Avant with my right foot hard to the floor there and back...... (basically 60-70 mph apart from some road work restrictions at 50 mph)
BP Fuel price at Wetherby Services was a Royal rip off at £1.32 a litre, Morrisons and Shell in the Town Centre were £1.13 a litre, but I stopped at Costco in Gateshead on the way back and it was £1.09 a litre. The difference in fuel cost for the trip would have been £9.00!!
1st tank fill and I got 39 mpg from mixed driving (I brimmed the tank when I got the car and did the same today)
Not bad at all and I expect it to improve a the engine loosens up
Using Fuelly now to track performance. Averaging 28mpg!! I don't do huge mileage (1700 miles since 1st March). Still very disappointed, as that's 50% less than I thought I'd get. And whilst I know that 64mpg as advertised, is under test conditions, I didn't expect the difference to be that much! Have asked garage to take car for a few days to test the fuel consumption.
Anyone else driving a 1.6TDI. If so, how's your fuel consumption going?

Hi gracie, just done 5500 miles since 1 march.
Mainly motorway driving 60/70mph mainLy using adaptive cruise control with journeys of 75 to 130 miles each trip, with the odd journey in the small town i live. Often get in queues of traffic in leeds, but still enjoying abt 58/59 mpg.
Filled up yday got 41 litres in the tank to fill it up and had 540 miles on the tripometer from the last time i filled up.
Audi q2 sport 1.6 tdi s tronic.
Ps i only got abt 48/50mpg until i had done over 2000 miles, but since its settling down to 58/59mpg regularly.
Hope yours improves.
I have done about 3400 miles. Mainly motorway driving with each trip being 40 miles.
Long term stats is at 49mpg and on each 40 miles trip I get about 55mpg with ac and cruise control on. This is in 1.4tsi auto sport with 18 inch wheels on dynamic setup. Never really changed the settings.
I am happy with this.

Thanks for the update Kev. I've just got the worst recording from a tank yet, 370 miles to a full tank and that included a 250mile motorway roundtrip. Car is booked in with service centre to review, as i genuinely believe there is something wrong now.
How many miles is your avaerge trip? With a diesel they normally take 5-6 miles to warm the engine. If you are doing lots of short trips then this will be very detromentle to your mpg.
My last car was a A2 1.4TDI a very frugle car indeed. But a lot of my driving was short trips of less than 3 miles,so on average I would get between 38-50 mpg.
But when I did a decent run up to Scotland I got 70mpg on that trip. Most owners doing trips of 10 miles or more would get 60-70 mpg easily.
So my point is really the length of journeys make a hudge difference to the mpg you get with a diesel.
My Q2 1.4 TFSI in comparison doing same sort of short trips I have got a average of 40mpg over 2000 miles
Thanks Dave
Yes, most of my trips would be short, but with one main trip a month (400km / 250miles). My problem is that even on the 400km trip, i'm not getting a good mpg return at all.
Just filled a couple of full tanks with BP diesel Ultimate and my mpg has decreased from 625 miles to 580 miles on a full tank. Thinking of going back to the cheaper supermarket standard diesel!
Q2 SUV S Line 2.0 TDI 150PS Quattro PS S tronic Automatic
I'm getting around 50mpg on my 90 mile round trip commute on a mix of country lanes, town centre and motorway.
Q2 1.0 TFSI Sport on standard tyres and have done around 1100 miles upto now.
Also worth adding that I was a little wary of ordering the 1.0 TFSI and would it be a bit sluggish and can say that I'm really pleased with the performance. It's at least as nippy as my previous A1 1.6 TDI that this replaced.

I took delivery of my 1.4 TFSi Sport S-Tronic a year ago next week, and I've done around 11,500 miles. I've been tracking fuel usage accurately for about 6 months using the Fuelio app, and the real-world average over that time has been 42.0 mpg. I do a typical mixture of motorway and urban mileage, generally within speed limits, making very extensive use of adaptive cruise control.
1.6tdi sport s tronic just done 16000 miles. Mostly 100 mile trips with a few around town and much shorter ave mpg 60
Always fill up at asda or morrisons.
Update...just had first service and oil change after 13 months 18100 miles. No problems. Tyres only used 3.5 tread on front.
Average mpg total 61mpg. Mostly 100 mile motorway trips. 60/65 mph usually in adaptive cruise mode.
Mainly refuel at asda, sometimes morrisons. Asda minworth nr brum are usually quite cheap.
Happy driving
I get about 52 mpg for the 2.0tdi s tropic. Nearly as good as you on the motorway. Not so good round town. Whatever, better than Audi quoted, which is unusual. I have only done 4000 miles so still running in.
