Re: brake discs

Good luck with trying to get Audi to contribute to your brake disc replacement. Have a look at other forums like the Q3 one you will quickly see that this is an issue across the VW/Audi franchise.

Re: brake discs

Not an uncommon problem on Audi vehicles. Most common reason given by Audi is corrosion due to lack of use or salt used by councils to prevent ice and not a manufacturing defect or a quality issue with materials used. This of course is nonsense as most owners will know brake discs should be good for...

Re: Oddly mottled rubber window seals

I have yet to find a rubber dressing that lasts any length of time so that is not a solution. I suspect that its the quick detailer that you use every time you wash your car that is proving to be the solution for you at least. I don't live in a hard water area so that's not the cause but I think tha...

Re: Oddly mottled rubber window seals

Gyeon Prep is a solvent based cleaner which I would not use regularly on my car. Being basically an alcohol solution over use could be detrimental to the rubber window seals. It's degreasing properties are probably what is removing the mottling effect.

Re: Windscreen chip

As the damage is 12cm long you will have to get the windscreen replaced asap. In my experience your insurance company will insist you use their approved supplier and if you don't they will limit the amount they will pay out for the replacement. It is unlikely that you will get a Audi original glass ...

No cheap way I am afraid as it must be installed and activated by an Audi dealer.

Re: Loud squeak when starting

There should be no squeak from the car when starting as you describe so a visit to Audi is a must. Whether its a dry bearing or sleeve on the starter motor or something more involved best to get it checked out for peace of mind if nothing else.

Re: MPG - How we all doing

I get around 55mpg with gentle driving on mostly A and B roads in my Q2 1.0 tfsi sport manual.

Did not get a litre of oil foc but after 2000 miles it has not used a drop.

Re: Clutch on 1.0tsi

I also have a 1.0 Q2 and get a sensation like a spring releasing under tension from my clutch pedal sometimes. I have not taken it to the dealers yet as it's so new and I hope it will settle down itself. It does not happen every time the clutch is depressed and I am not worried about it so will wait...
