As the damage is 12cm long you will have to get the windscreen replaced asap. In my experience your insurance company will insist you use their approved supplier and if you don't they will limit the amount they will pay out for the replacement. It is unlikely that you will get a Audi original glass ...

There should be no squeak from the car when starting as you describe so a visit to Audi is a must. Whether its a dry bearing or sleeve on the starter motor or something more involved best to get it checked out for peace of mind if nothing else.

I get around 55mpg with gentle driving on mostly A and B roads in my Q2 1.0 tfsi sport manual.

Did not get a litre of oil foc but after 2000 miles it has not used a drop.

I also have a 1.0 Q2 and get a sensation like a spring releasing under tension from my clutch pedal sometimes. I have not taken it to the dealers yet as it's so new and I hope it will settle down itself. It does not happen every time the clutch is depressed and I am not worried about it so will wait...
