Re: Oil consumption.

I'm on slightly over 5000 miles, and I usually check levels every couple of weeks. I've topped up the oil twice, but only with a small amount each time.

Re: How common is the 1.5 TFSI engine problem?

The service manager at my dealership wasn't aware either until I described the issue with my Q2. He had to do some digging before he was able to find a reference to the software update, presumably somewhere within the Audi system. The VAG group seem to be downplaying the issue as much as they can - ...

Re: How common is the 1.5 TFSI engine problem?

Apart from a test drive for 30 mins prior to buying my Q2 I had never driven an Audi. I was impressed with everything about the car particularly the performance. The test drive was in a 1.4. Almost 300 miles on from my earlier post after the software update I am very pleased. The car is sharper and...

Re: How common is the 1.5 TFSI engine problem?

I wonder if the ECU will need to “relearn” your driving style all over again. I recall some Skoda owners being told to expect this by their dealers following their initial software updates.

Re: How common is the 1.5 TFSI engine problem?

A Skoda Karoq owner seems to be seeing an improvement with the latest software update.

Re: How common is the 1.5 TFSI engine problem?

It’s safe as long as you’re aware of the issue! The worst that can happen is that occasionally the engine might stall when pulling away from a junction or roundabout. I would suggest taking this up with your dealer, and check that the software update has been applied at the factory - I would be surp...

Re: How common is the 1.5 TFSI engine problem?

The last thing Audi needs is a pile of class action lawsuits and claims for compensation - hence keeping it ultra low-key and apparently describing the issue as “a slight judder”!! Anyway, I’m glad to be getting the fix before winter arrives up here in the frozen North.

Re: How common is the 1.5 TFSI engine problem?

I heard from my dealer today. The service manager had to do some digging to discover the patch - it would appear that Audi are treating this as a low-key rollout, and the dealership hadn’t been aware of the issue until today. I suspect that in most cases the patch would have been applied as Q2s arri...

Re: Re new 35 1.5 TFSI Engines

That’s good news! Did the software fix have a particular name or ID? I’m just thinking ahead to Monday when I call my dealer, and their response (based on past experience of VAG dealers) is likely to be “Fix, what fix?”.

Re: Re new 35 1.5 TFSI Engines

An update on the updates... The final post on this page of the Skoda forum suggests that a second software update seems to have fixed the cold start/kangarooing issues, at least for one driver. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/465281-karoq-software-update-progress-report/page/10/?tab=comments#c...
