That is the sort of saving that some franchised Audi dealers will use as their starting point for the;
"This is the best we can offer..."
"There is no money in this deal for us..."
"I've spoken to my manager and this is as low as we can go..."
spiel that they come out with. Derby Audi in particular are excellent at this.

A friend is a sales manager at a main VW dealership & the group he works for also have Audi dealerships too. He referred me to his sales manager colleague at the Audi dealership who basically did me all but a staff deal on my Q2, so I've got a pretty good idea what the margins are (big!).

The friend at VW says you would be amazed how many customers come in, pay the list price less the £500 discount you've generously given them & thrown in mudflaps / a couple of free umbrellas & walk out thinking they have got the deal of the century. And that is before you throw in any finance, part-ex etc.
