Hi

Anyone shed any light as to why my Google Maps is no longer working?

Car is now 3 years old, Audi claim they have extended the Connect License but it states my License has expired when I go to Google Maps on the MMI.

Its so frustrating and Audi do not want to know. Any suggestions?

I have both VCDS (Vagcom) and OBD11 and neither show any faults.

Thanks Ormesome

Yes, sadly its true, although Audi haven't told me this, I have go this off a VCDS specialist. My Audi dealer and Audi UK haven't told me anything.

I suspect that once you get to renewal point it will stop working like mine and there is currently no way to get it back.

What year is your Q2? Apparently not all, if any, Q2s are currently affected, so defo check with your dealer. Seems like there is an update that the older gen cars with VC and so on, will get which gives a satélite view overlay. No one has this yet anywhere so no one knows what it looks like but the option is there if you are affected.

Don't think it's related to renewal point, could be I guess but people in that thread above and others on the internet are saying they have been renewed for a year and it's suddenly stopped working.

My Google maps overlay stopped working early December 2020. Reading through the linked audi-sport thread, I thought I'd wait until the "Satellite Card" update was more widely available, which I think might now be the case.

Has anyone had this issue and were you able to fix it? My car is still within warranty, and I have about four months left of the Audi Connect license.

IF you read through the link then you will see that mine actually was done. It is way better than what it was, i suggest doing it. Contact your Audi dealer and they will sort it and it should be free.

Hello,
I have the same problem and i recevied the following answer :
"
Thank you for contacting Audi Digital Services.

We received your inquiry regarding the service Navigation with Google Earth™.

Kindly be informed that due to our dependency on Google to provide the "Google Earth" functionality for Audi Connect, this map view is no longer available for some Audi models from 1st January 2021.

The replacement service, Audi Connect "Satellite Card", can be downloaded via a free software update and re-activated (license terms and extensions remain unaffected). Please, keep in touch with your preferred Audi partner in regards to the availability of the said update.

"
Then I contacted my reseller that first was not aware of this problem but he called me back later and agreed to apply this update for free. I will do it next year
