Hello everyone, my first post here.

I am considering the Audi Q2 but I want a more powerful petrol engine plus AWD Quattro.

Audi confirmed that 2.0 TSFI turbo petrol 140 kw engine for Q2 Quattro AWD is coming but they are very vague about the timing of the on-sale.

Does anyone have any information when this car is likely to be available ?

PS I also heard rumours about SQ2 and RSQ2 in future but I am guessing those variants must be 1-2+ years away.

thanks

Audi France introduced the 2.0 TFSI with 190hp on their online configurator two weeks ago. But someone must have screwed it up because it was almost immediately removed. Maybe they hadn't the autorisation to sell it yet. Anyway it's a proof that the 190hp is coming.

Well, I do agree with you re "why need more power" question.

Each to their own.

I think it depends on which country you live/drive in and how much you can afford to spend on a car and it also depends on your previous car too.

For me the requirement for my next new car (bought in 2017/2018) is for it to be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under 7.0 seconds and the engine must *not* be a diesel and the car must be *either* a rear-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive.
This is just me.

My local Audi Australia country representative tells me (just this week) there is no release information available on SQ2 or RSQ2.
Dont expect them to be announced for quite some time.
Anything your local Audi dealer have told you is pure speculation and guess-work on their part.

The 190 bhp/140kw petrol-turbo 2.0 litre Q2 "TFSI" is publicly announced and is officially coming by "end of 2017".
It sprints 0-100 km/h in ~6.8 seconds (Audi data).

We are now in June 2017 (as of this week) and this particular model was actually first announced as early as ~March 2016.
It is still not available even at home in Germany so I now have reasons to think this is a 2018 release car, particularly in UK/Australian right-hand-drive specification.

Perhaps Audi have hit some technical difficulties with this Q2 model which they do not wish to share (my personal gut feel only).
Or it could be that they cannot build even the current models of Q2 fast enough due to high demand.

Sales of Diesel cars are slowing fast due to the uncertainty of how Governments are going to treat them going forward.

It's likely that production of petrol engines haven't caught up with demand yet.

FYI, I just saw the 140 kw 2.0 litre TFSI turbo petrol Q2 Quattro on Audi.de Germany web site, from Euro$ 33.900
0-100 kmh in 6.5 seconds
(of course the price goes up very quickly once you add options!!)
Now I do wonder how long it will take for the right-hand-drive (UK, AUS, Japan, India etc) versions to become available?

I looked at it as well and if your not careful on the options as you say and creep over that £40k mark (which won't be difficult) then the 1st 5 years VED is over £500

Keep below and it's £200 year 1, then £140 a year

Thanks!

I just looked at the Audi UK web site today, the 2.0 TFSI petrol quattro is now showing as available to buy, about 32K GBP plus options.

If anyone manages to drive this model or find a review on the web please post it here.

Much obliged.

BTW it looks like Audi may halt the sales of A4/A5 with 2.0 TFSI petrol engine, due to some sort of software and fuel consumption issue.
I wonder if it affects the Q2 model with the same engine albeit in 140kw/190hp spec (A4 2.0 TSFI is 180kw+).

excellent!
please let us know how it drives and when they estimate it will be delivered.

will you go for the 19-inch wheels?

what about Adaptive Dampers with Audi Drive Select?

I read some reviews saying that ride on 19 inch wheels is too uncomfortable on any roads apart from smooth high speed freeways and that Adaptive Dampers with Drive Select is virtually a mandatory option for 19 inch wheels.
The 19 inch wheels bring along better quality tyres though, for better handling and road holding.

This is the combination I am planning to order.

PS Also watch out for the road noise from the tyres on 19 inch wheels......
