Hello there,

At 16k miles I need to replacement my front tyres for the first time (1.4.l s-line, petrol, front wheel drive, was a dealer demonstrator)

I have Michelin Primacy 3 tyres (215/50 R18), as factory fitted from new and am probably going to replace them with the same.

Questions

1/ Does anyone have experience on different branded tyres, and if so what are they like?

I'm looking to buy online and then take them locally to fit. I've used https://www.blackcircles.com/ before and have been recommended to use https://www.tyreleader.co.uk/ too. (both currently are charging about £130 for tyre only)

2/ Does anyone have any other suggestions for retailers or know of any current special deals?

Thanks

I'm on these , I've only done about 7500 miles but they show little wear.

Thanks,
I went with Michelin Primacy 3 in the end, as Blackcircles.com had a 10% discount with 2 or more Michelin's, fitted at ATS. paid £134/tyre inc fitting.

Hi all,

I know this is an old thread, but as I'm looking to replace my tyres I wondered what experience you've had with the replacements (and whether you'd get them again!).

I have Bridgestone Turanza T001 (215/50/R18 92W) on my Q2, but wondering whether to stick with those or look at the Turanza T005 or Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen3.

The Turanza's have a fair amount of tread left, but have really started to deteriorate on the edge.

That photo could be straight off my 2019 AUDI Q2 TFSI S LINE 35 150. The factory fit Bridgestone Turanza T001 are all showing such cracking and I think it's shockingly poor manufacturing and a bad choice by Audi. They should cover this low quality of manufacture under warranty but no hope there.

I had the same with rubbish Pirelli tyres on both my wife's Audi A3 and my Golf Mk7 cars bought new in 2013 where the factory fit tyres all perished in less than 3-years whilst still having plenty of tread left. It's strange how Audi don't put rubbish rubber on cars they sell in the German home market. My colleagues in Germany all have Continental brand tyres out the factory on their new VAG vehicles.

I fitted Continental to my Golf and was very pleased with the results - great road holding, low noise and good economy but they did wear a little more quickly. If my Q2 fails its first MOT on the shocking condition of these rubbish Bridgestone tyres then I'm looking at replacing with Continental EcoContact™ 6 Q A0 tyres.
