Folding wing mirrors

Post by Jeanhob » Sun Apr 16, 2017 7:35 am

Hi everybody. We just bought an x demo q2 in grey with folding mirrors. We won't get it till the end of the month but at 3am we had a thought that it might not fit in the garage! Yes, we should have checked first! But my question is can you fold the mirrors in before you drive into the garage. It will fit with mirrors folded in but won't if they are out! Thanks everyone x

There is a button to fold the mirrors and you can then drive into your garage.

I have folding mirrors on mine. They fold automatically when you lock the car or as yaz says you can turn the adjustor button
To the bottom position and the mirrors fold in when ignition on.
Remember to return the button to normal position after moving out of the garage for the mirrors to unfold.
I have similar problem can only get into garage with mirrors folded.
Had this feature on my a3 sportback a few years ago it is a very handy option saves pushing them in manually each time.

Thank you, that's a relief! Looking forward to getting ours at the end of the month. Did either of you get the gard x treatment?

Enjoy your new car when it comes, end of the month is not to far away now :)

I coindered the gard x but did not go for it after researching online. The problem is the dealer car wash is usually very busy and they don't have the time to do the job properly. They only spend a couple hours on it. With no time to perfect the paintwork.

I went for Gtechniq protection applied profectionaly. They spend 15 hours perfecting the car. My thread below.

After reading review about the way dealers apply the coating. I am going for gtechniq as well at the end of the month.

They only fold automatically if you actually enable the function (mine was missed on the PDI and a salesman said they didn't have that function  ) so for anyone else wanting auto folding mirrors here's what to do:

Go Menu and highlight 'Car' then joystick left and select 'Vehicle Settings'

Then select 'Central Locking'

Then click to put a tick in the box for 'Fold Mirrors'

Now the mirrors will fold when the car is locked via the key fob and unfold when you turn on the ignition.
