My new Q2 parking senors only beep I cant see anything on my screen and I don't think I have front senors ? Is there a way to at least see the rear senors when I reverse on my screen ? This is giving me anxiety as I haven't driven before and I can't drive without it. I don't mean a camera I mean a display that tells you how close you are to objects like the one in the picture

Hi,

You won't see the display on the screen unless you have factory fitted front and rear partaking sensors. And it's a coincidence you asked this question as I have just taken delivery of a new Q2 with rear parking sensors, so today I sent an email with a scan of my car to Carista (check them out on the internet) asking them if they are developing a mod for visual display when the car doesn't have front and rear factory fitted sensors. They developed a customisation for my previous car - an Audi A1 - that worked perfectly with rear only. I will update when I get a response from Carista.

Hi,

Also, you could ask if someone on this forum has access to a certified Ross-Tech VCDS cable as they may be able to help with the modification.

Hi,

I tried the updated beta version and no luck getting the visual display to work. Carista are digging deeper and will let me know when they get more information on this customisation for the Q2.

Yes, there are a number of customisations to test out. Would be worth sending an email to Carista asking if you can join the beta team to assist in the development of customisations for the Q2.

I have activated needle sweep on start up. A bit sad but makes me smile. Also a lot of customisations to change the length of time things operate, for example the tear drop sweep, and a number of interior and exterior lighting options, steering, and modifications to the dreaded bing and bongs.

Hi,

I had the latest Beta version yesterday, so downloaded that, but the visual display isn't listed as from a previous email from Carista, they are working on this customisation. So today I have screen shot the customisations that are listed. I can't see the normal version of Carisata as the Beta version overrides that, so I'm unable to compare them against each other. Hopefully the screen shots will help.

More photos to come as they wouldn't all go at once.

Looks good. thanks for the images. defo a couple of interesting bits, like the infotainment theme, subwoofer ability to change settings is something I need as I have the subwoofer but no control, i think most of the other bits are as per normal Carista. defo a few little mods in there that aren't on the normal mode but not sure i would use them. i think ill email them to see if i can set myself up with it though. Do you get a cheaper yearly subscription or anything for doing the beta?

Hi, they invite you to join the beta testing and give no charge access for a limited time, but long enough to test the new customisations and report back on them.

Hello!!

I have been following this chat for a while.. i also have Carista but on its Android version. Have Carista back to you on the parking sensors display on MMI when you have parking sensors on the back?

Also does anyone know if the traffic signs max speed can be shown on its own on the VC? In the middle? I have seen videos on Youtube that they have Waze on the MMI and then on the VC in the middle have just the speed limit between the 2 big clocks.

Thank you

Hi Raul_sbd

I'm waiting for an update from Carista after I tried the customisation using a different method they suggested, but that didn't work either, so I sent a debug a scan and will see what happens over the next few weeks.

Pretty sure that the traffic signs is part of a different package that can read signs and speed limits and works in conjunction with the adaptive cruise?. I have speed signs on the MMI but I don't have them on the VC cos I don't have the added camera where the auto lights sensor is.

Just got the Carista Beta option. Strangely enough there is no subwoofer option in my menu. Gonna play around more tomorrow but the photo that shows all the nav options and subwoofer you posted doesn't show on mine. Weird.

Hi,

I had this where one time the options were on the Carista menu, and the next time I plugged it in they had disappeared! I emailed Carista who suggested I open the bonnet and run the engine before starting the app. Didn't make any difference, but weirdly the following day it worked fine and the options appeared. The visual display still didn't work, so fed that back, and a few days later updated beta arrived. Tried that and the visual display wasn't on the menu even after trying the open bonnet method. Guess we will have to wait until they have done further development.

Very strange. I guess they seek feedback for if it works and if it doesn't then they modify it and then re-add it to the options. Anyway, some cool stuff on the app, added the G-meter to the virtual cockpit, not much use but a bit of fun! I selected the "add scroll/blink to indicators" and that messed up my dynamic rear indicators so turned that off immediately. Oh and the start stop button light pulse works well. Can't think of others that are working well.

Actually, my reverse mirror dip now no longer works. Was fine without Beta.

Hi,

After a few updates, and exchange of emails with Carista, it looks like the visual display for the rear park sensors can't be enabled on my particular car. It would be useful if a member of an earlier model of the Q2 can try the beta software to see if that works as that may help with any future development of the software.

One thought would be if this works using the VCDS software, so if anyone has access to that and can activate the visual parking display, please let me know,

Also worth noting when setting up is that I opened the bonnet of the car first, plugged in Carista, turned the ignition on, then started the app on my iPad.

Good luck
