Just over 2000 miles now and the average is settling down, mixed town and country roads, getting 43 to best 45, nothing higher, this is based on the cars system, I have not tried a proper test (tank full to tank full).

I am getting between 40-45 mpg from tracking fuel filled and mileage. Happy with that. Not far off the figures I was getting on my diesel car and paying less for fuel so good alround.

I have a 1.0 TFSI and Ive driven 60 miles on it so far I'm getting 28 MPG (imperial 23 MPG US) ... its my first car... will it get better or will it stay like ? I that? I drive slowly, not aggressively , I use the brake and the throttle very sparsely and do not slam them ever basically drive it like a grandma ;) :D BR Dylan

Update, just completed a tour of Ireland and now have 3500 on the clock, highest mpg I recorded was 49mpg.
The long term memory reading on screen, which is from new, is showing 39.65, I am happy with that.

Readings are an average so you'll need to do a lot more miles to get a more accurate reading.

Hi,

I'm now approaching 9,000 miles. Long term memory shows 45.9mpg whilst it is not unusual for me to have short term in excess of 55mpg. This is on a 1.4 TFSI. In a typical week I will drive around 150 miles on a motorway at 60-70mph and 200 miles on A & B roads. My driving style varies but typically do not drive aggressively. I'm pleased with this although no where near what I used to get out of my previous car which was a diesel where I could get in excess of 70mpg... the long term average on that was 55mpg. Very strange seeing the 1.0 TFSI at such low mpg...

Now done 3500 miles, mainly motorway driving 60-70mph.
Long term memory shows 58.9mpg.
Actual is abt 57mpg ( fuel taken divided by miles travelled ).
1.6 tdi s tronic.
Very happy now as things have settled but first few tanks of fuel was barely 50mpg.

For those getting 'low' mpg, have you set the car to 'efficiency mode'?

I was told that the 'coasting' function which will increase mpg is only active if the 'efficiency' setting is selected.

I personally will avoid 'dynamic' and 'comfort' and settle for auto for everyday use and only go to 'efficiency' on longer motorway runs.

Anyone any thoughts on this choice?
