Just read the recent posts in this thread!DavidC wrote: ↑Wed Dec 12, 2018 6:33 pmI have a 2018 Q2 S Line with 18” wheels.
I wanted to purchase a spacesaver spare from my local Audi dealer and was quoted over £360.00 for the privilege.
I was then advised I could not get a spacesaver wheel for my vehicle as it was not listed.
Am I being fobbed off here or has anyone any ideas where should go with this.
Thank you.

Bagged a bargain on e-bay last month for a 19” with new Continental tyre for £1.20, just needed a spigot ring.

Re: Spare Wheel or not?
I've just had to use my space saver & stopped 3/4 times to check that I had tightened the wheel nuts properly! To cut a long story short when put on a wheel balancer it was dented/buckled but with no sign of impact damage. I checked with the dealer about a possible replacement under warranty & was told no chance, they have offered to try & straighten & repaint but now thinking of possibly getting a full size spare. The big question is will it fit (under the floor), the car runs on 215/55 x 17? Has anybody gone this route & what did it cost?
Many thanks

Hi there,
I know this topic has a lot of info, but I wanted to triple check that for my Q2 SLine with 18" alloys, I should be looking at a 19" spare wheel such as this one: https://www.thewheelshop.co.uk/audi-q2-19-space-saver-spare-wheel.html
Chatting with my neighbour who has an A3, he said 'surely you want the same size as your normal alloys'. With that in mind, I'm still not clear why I need to choose the 19" over the 18" ?
Many thanks.

Re: Spare Wheel or not?
It’s because of the profile of the tyres a lower profile one on your car tyre which is 18” so by going bigger you get the same overall size, haven’t explained it that well but that’s my understanding of it I did this when I had my TT picked one up on EBay don’t know if our stud pattern is the same as any other Audi models worth a look.
Re: Spare Wheel or not?
Your neighbour was half-right, but he misled you by talking about the size of your alloys. You want the same overall size including the tyres, i.e. the 'rolling diameter', which is the alloy diameter plus twice the tyre depth. All wheels fitted to Q2 models have approximately the same rolling diameter - 66cm.richii wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 4:05 pmHi there,

I did exactly what you're trying to do, except that my alloys are 17". I bought a space-saver spare with a 19" steel wheel and a 125/70 R19 100M tyre. It fits fine!

Re: Spare Wheel or not?
Just a quick update on my February post. I ended up purchasing the 19" Space Saver wheel from https://www.thewheelshop.co.uk/audi-q2- ... wheel.html
Very pleased with it, but hoping not to have to use it!
Here's some photos in case anyone has a similar setup with the B&O Subwoofer.
Before, no spare wheel, just the B&O Subwoofer.

Re: Spare Wheel or not?
Hi,
Your post is really helpful as I’ve been looking online for a space saver to fit my car after the dealership quoted £336 for the wheel and tyre! I will get the polystyrene tool holder and the plastic securing assembly from the dealer as they are similar in price to used ones I’ve seen on auction sites.

Hi,
Just ordered a space saver wheel and jack from www.thewheelshop.co.uk, and the polystyrene holder and bolt assembly to secure the wheel from Audi. All parts should arrive in a few days. So thanks for all the advice.
