Dear Forum members,

As a new buyer awaiting delivery, I Just wanted to get an idea about how practical and easy this car is, to live with, for a small family (couple and a newborn)

Any of the forum members having thoughts about their decision after a year or so or mostly pleased with its space, reliability and practicality..?
would also be interested in your experience on vacations and long journeys on Q2

Any input will be greatly appreciated.. Thanks

It is very easy to live with as a family car, it is know different from most hatchback type vehicles of that size. Best option s to go into a showroom with all your newborns stuff, eg pushchair etc and try it for size.

Mine is long grown up so I don’t have to worry about these things.
However I’ve just swapped from the latest VW Tiguan and find the Q2 a dream to drive, it all seems so easy and relaxed, yes it’s smaller but still a good size for everyday life.

Two kids (a one year old and a four year old) and its just big enough, boot space isn't that big and put a buggy in and its full.

Love it though.

Came from an SQ5 which had so much more space.

Dead easy to live with! I don't have a family as such but for me and the girlfriend the Q2 is a step up from the A3. I do many many miles in my car, driving all over Europe and the 1st trip I did in my Q2 was from Switzerland to UK. around 1000 miles in totally over a week. Drive was lovely with the S-tronic gearbox, super comfy, got out at my destination not feeling tired at all. Be prepared for a loss in MPG due to the size and weight of the thing. Having said that it depends on what car you came from. My 1.6tdi A3 gave me 55-60mpg on a trip. Im getting 40-42mpg from my 2.0tdi Q2. Practicality wise it is no different from the A3 really, its easier to get in to but im not that old to care! Boot is similar to A3 size, not huge, similar to any hatch out there. I would say its bigger in size than most hatchbacks. Not overly so but I do feel its bigger. Also the 19 inch alloys are a pain to keep scratch free. Iv had mine 2 months and they are all scratched! didn't have that problem wiht the A3 and iv never scratched any alloys in my life. Might be me but worth a thought. Having said this the Q2, imho, looks horrid without the 19s so I would still spect them!

Hope that helps. Oh and spec wise, defo spec the VC, ambient lighting and keyless entry.

Hi,

I have a 2 year old, and have been using the Q2 with her for the last year.

Car Seat
We have a rear facing (and side twist) car seat, which works well, except the front passenger seat cannot be fully slid back, or reclined much, otherwise it affects the ability to twist the baby seat.
It is one of these for comparison - https://www.johnlewis.com/cybex-sirona- ... d/p1803431

Saying that, only large SUV's will avoid this issue, as the Cybex Sirona is quite big.

Buggy
We've also got quite a large buggy - an uppababy 2016 vista
This only fits into the boot, with the boot floor in its lower position, or with a buggy wheel removed if in the higher position.

Hope that helps
