Anyone has retrofitted an aftermarket unit to his MMI?? I `m searching for a unit that would be easy to install in order to use this feature on my MMI.

Why do you need to retrofit Apple Car Play/Android Auto? I thought all versions of the Q2 were supplied with Audi Smartphone Interface as standard. All you need to do is connect your smartphone by a USB cable then enter the MMI Menu and select Apple Car Play or Android Auto depending on your phone.
The beauty of it is, the software that creates the smartphone interface on the MMI screen is regularly updated OTA through the phone. Which is more than you can say for the MMI software! Partly for this reason, I've long-abandoned using Audi Navigation, and now use Google Maps displayed via Android Auto.

Hey Guys,

The Q2 comes with smartphone link interface preparation in the MMI I believe and CarPlay/Android Auto as standard on some trim levels. Having said that it needs enabling and programming to work which is available to most models on the Q2.
HazzyDays is a company who does this in the UK.

well... I bought a Q2 just a week ago and I can tell that this feature is not a standard! At least not in my country. So after a small research I did at some local retrofitting stores I got that I need to install this unit:

Also in order to be able to use Android Auto or Apple CarPlay I also need to upgrade my screen to a touchscreen with this unit:

and if I`m not mistaken.. that`s not all yet. Because with all these extras still there is no android auto or apple CarPlay feature. So I guess I also need this:

Anyone has any experience on such units?

No experience on any of those products but be careful as you risk invalidating your warranty if anything should go wrong. The invalidation will only apply to the parts connected to the MMi but i wouldn't put anything crappy and cheap in there as it could have a knock on affect.

Why do you even consider any aftermarket unit when you can retrofit that feature on Audi dealer? In Finland that OEM retrofit cost 309 - 439€ + labor . Prize depend what else features you have in your car, etc Audi Music Interface, MIB2 High Scale ...

Not all dealers in each country are the same. Swiss dealers are rubbish compared to the UK for modifying. They didn't even know what to do with a dashcam. Other countries just don't do it, like France and Portugal. UK is ok, they do add things in the brochure but nothing ever like an MMI swap. This is rare and iv not come across ann official dealership doing this. Must be unique to Finland. Aftermarket specialists in the UK like Audiretrofits or VAG Car coding are good for this and offer warranties and new OEM parts.

I thought that Audi dealers would be same shit across the world. That's shame that they don't treat all customers same way. Honestly I thought that Finland was crappiest county with aftermarket and aftermarket.
Nope. Dealers are franchises and even ones in the UK that are only a few kms away from each other can differ in services. Here in Switzerland the service is so good, you really get the 5star premium brand treatment. But back in the UK when I had an A3 I was treated like rubbish. The UK is the best for aftermarket but not via Audi direct. Places like Audiretrofits, VAG CAR CODING and others are doing amazing stuff for really really good prices. Check them out on Instagram. You will be amazed.
