Phoned muted

Post by ljones2588 » Thu Jan 16, 2020 7:45 am

I’m hoping someone can advise me why my speakers aren’t working from my phone to the car speakers. I’ve checked all the settings on the phone and in the car but can’t workout why it’s still muted. I’ve attached a photograph to show the muted sign I’m getting on the display. I’m not sure if this has happened when I’ve updated my phone or whether I’ve pressed something in the car. I can still use other phone functions, it’s just the sound that isn’t coming through the speakers. Many thanks.

That’s not a “muted” symbol, it’s a Bluetooth symbol. 🤔

As above. That’s the Bluetooth shampoo. You need to check the volume button on the MMI and also the volume button on your phone. Turn up both. That should work. Failing this you need to repair it or turn your phone off and on. Iv not had this before. The muted symbol is usually visible next to the song that is playing. I’ll try to take a foto of it later just so you can see...

Thanks for your information, I have at least learnt what the issue is! I’ve tried the suggestions but still no joy in getting the Bluetooth on. When I go into the connection manager in settings it’s showing my phone as the primary phone but I can’t change any other settings. Any other ideas, many thanks,

Have you tried deleting your device from the MMI and reinstalling it? Sometimes works.
