Roof bars - rubber profile cover

Post by Goetz » Sun Dec 31, 2017 7:01 pm

Not sure whether anybody driving a neat Q2 decided to buy roof bars - my wife did to please me, and to save the car from scratches when I - a keen DIY-er decide to transport bigger items than the snug Q2 can accommodate. I managed most of the summer activities without but took it to the test yesterday.
What a disappointment:
the rubber profile covers wouldn't stick in the T-grove and I had to tie them down with tape - see the disgraceful picture.

Has anybody come across this problem and how did AUDI solve it? I cannot find any mentioning on the web...
Certainly, the Thule Roof Bar for our previous car didn't have such problems!

I had the same issue. 2 days after taking delivery, lost 1 rubber strip driving on the freeway and just managed to save the second after I heard it slapping on the roof in the wind.

@Goetz, What did Audi do about replacement etc? did you end up going for Thule racks?
